[BLOG] Fear of “NEW” | A Cuppa Chat

Road in a desert - Revive with Haz blog

Hi peeps! I hope your week is going great.

Today I just want to write you about my fear of “NEW”.
It’s been a month or so since I opened my Youtube channel, and a couple of weeks since I started this blog. And I can tell you that I am loving it, it’s great to share my words and life with you that may give you some encouragement. Also THANK YOU so much for all your support, it means A LOT to me.

However, it’s terrifying to have gone into this Youtube world, not knowing whether I am helping anybody at all. What’s the point of doing it if it’s not useful to anybody after all?

Stepping into this world wasn’t so difficult, but surviving, let alone thriving, does seem tricky. I have been questioning myself if I am good enough to actually be a Youtuber.

Not born with it

Going back a few years… since I was very young, I always wanted to speak in front of an audience. I wasn’t very good at public speaking though. I was and still am nervous, panicky and a little shaky when I speak to a group of people, regardless the number of people in the group. Having done a lot of presentations at University, I decided that I wasn’t good enough for public speaking at all.

After graduating from University, I spent a long long time to find what I wanted to do for the rest of my life; and finally I came up with the idea of opening a Youtube channel, about which I was full of hope and excitement. It is because, as you know, you can reach a wider audience without actually speaking to them!

However, the same challenge struck me again. I become nervous, panicky and even shaky when I speak to a flipping camera! Oh my gosh, can you imagine the struggle?! Filming, checking the footage and editing the videos made me realise of the problem, which led me to question myself even more. Would I ever get better at this?…

Looking at The Bigger Picture

Then, I went to church on a Sunday to listen to a sermon by a great public speaker: the pastor of the church. He is, by the way, amazing at his job; he’s clear, engaging, so natural and even funny. While I was amazed by how good he was at public speaking, I realised, regardless he’s born with it or not, he had to start somewhere to become who he is now. Maybe, I have a chance to improve?

Also the pastor’s word on having a bigger purpose of life gave me a great encouragement to chase my dream instead of passing day by day! So I have decided that my life purpose is to encourage and build people up with my positive words by sharing my life via actual encounters, YouTube and Blogging.

It’s Your Time

So I want to encourage you as well, that you have a purpose of your life. If you haven’t found one, do not worry, you will find it just as I have by dreaming, hoping and learning so many good things that you can do in the world! You might sometimes feel useless (I did!), but don’t feed that nasty thought. You are born with a purpose like everyone is… you just don’t know what it is yet!

And if you have started, and are afraid of your new career and new lifestyle; don’t worry, you are not alone!
I know it’s sometimes hard and so frustrating that you might want to quit… but hang in there! Through these difficulties and challenges, we will grow stronger. And I am here to support you! 🙂

I hope my words would give you encouragement.
Please leave in the comment what your dreams and how you are overcoming/ have overcome challenges to follow your dreams. I would love to read them all!

Thank you so much for reading such a long story,
and I will see you guys in my next blog. 🙂

Bye! xx

[REVIEW] Mac-Nutrition Uni LIVE 3 2016

Hi lovely peeps! I hope your day is wonderful. 🙂

In September, I attended one of Mac-Nutrition Uni (MNU) Live lectures and made it into a vlog- but I thought I would write up a review on here too.

You could attend these live lectures for FREE if you are either a FULL ONLINE student or a FULL ONLINE with HONOURS student*.

MNU LIVE 3 was held in Loughborough, which was about 2 hours away from where I was based at that time. So I got up much earlier than usual (6am was very early to me… No judgement please haha) and set off!

The venue, Burleigh Court, was great for the event, endless teas and coffees and nice snacks in the lecture room as well as in the foyer! It’s good to know that most of live lectures and the upcoming conference are held in this venue as well.

The Mac-Nutrition team was very welcoming and helpful during the whole day of the event, working their socks off behind the scene while Martin was teaching us.

MNU LIVE 3 Lecture Room

The live lectures were on Optimal Health, including “Is There An Optimal Diet for Human Health”, IBS and PCOS. Most lectures were pitched at an advanced level for later in the course; but it was still very interesting to learn about new concepts in Nutrition, and having a better understanding of IBS etc. 🙂

One thing that I really loved about these lectures was Mac-Nutrition team’s evidence-based approach to each subject. For example, on Optimal Diet(s) for Human Health, Martin presented a case study on Kitavan diet in South Asia. The diet contains high level of carbohydrates(~69%), but the obesity & heart attack rate in the region is lower than the Western society**! Martin also provided either complementary or contradictory case studies on different diets like Gluten-free and Fasting.

Another thing I loved about the day was the group of people that I got to mingle with. We all were from different backgrounds but gathered altogether for the same reason- learning more about Nutrition to help others. Now I am a member of this amazing MNU Mentoring Group where people constantly supporting each other! Please let me know on comments if you want to know more about this group, I will write a little blog 🙂

MNU LIVE 3 Interview with Martin

I was able to interview Martin on a few questions including how he pursued Integrity in Nutrition/Fitness industry, which was a great advice to me if not us all 🙂

All in all it was an amazing day, I really enjoyed every minute of it.

Thank you for reading, and I will see you in my next post.

Bye! xx

A New Chapter

Hi guys this is Haz, and I really welcome you to my Blog.
This is really exciting for me, as I have been wanting to share my fitness and life journey with lots and lots of people for a while!

So, finally, I am very happy to announce that I will write blogs focusing on NUTRITION, FITNESS & LIFESTYLE.

I’ve started an amazing nutrition course called Mac-Nutrition Uni(MNU) this month to become a qualified Nutritionist, which is very exciting. As I learn about Nutrition on this course, I will share the evidence-based, scientific and up-to-date knowledge in Nutrition with you too! Obviously all credit goes to MNU 😉 You can have a sneak peek of what the course is like on my Instagram & Youtube as well as MNU Instagram & Facebook.

Don’t get me wrong, I am no fitness expert. However, because I am not one I am going to share my journey to become one with you. It will include some physical challenges like Plank challenge and gym training. Hopefully this time next year I will be taking a Personal Training course too, so I can share evidence-based information on physical training with you!

There are so many other things that I love doing apart from nutrition and fitness, so I am going to share those with you too. It will include Rock Climbing, Eating, Travelling and trying new things!

I will primarily do vlogs on these, but for those who prefer reading I will write blogs too!

Thank you for reading and see you all in my next blog.
